Tell us a little about yourself: What field do you work in and how did you get there?
I do family therapy and personal development in Dunajská Streda. I rent an office that several of us share; we work in shifts to stay efficient and mindful of the schedule. My current profession, the final result of a decade of continuous training and learning, is family therapy, the pinnacle of all the training I have put a lot of time into. The result of my self-discovery is this realization, a constant need to improve. The fact that I now have a large clientele is a confirmation that I can help people using these techniques. I love that people who need help are willing to work with me online. We save travel costs and travel time. It works great for online therapy, even with couples, I always just ask them to log into the call from two different devices so that I can understand what is being said.
Why is the "green", i.e. ecologically sustainable dimension of business important to you and why do you think that other entrepreneurs should also deal with it?
Awareness is made up of two important elements: on the one hand, it is a way of being present in the day, and on the other, it is a way of caring for our future, which includes the protection of nature, but also the individual responsibility of man for the future of our children. Then the ongoing conscious decision to opt for economical and feasible projects: the office no longer had the internet because we used it so rarely that we considered it unnecessary. I send e-invoices, we use e-tickets for events, I believe in less but better quality and I represent this to clients, but thinking small, even in our private life, we are constantly changing children's clothes within the family. I am really proud that we are holding a self-awareness event at a vegan restaurant.
What advantages does entrepreneurship bring to your life compared to a job?
I am lucky that with three children, my husband and I are both able to support each other at work and the children are always with one of us. Most of the time, juggling so many responsibilities feels overwhelming, whether I'm focused on our bright kids or managing our own lives. Managing the family logistics and running the household all fall to me. I wanted to take a break from my business for a while, but the insistence of clients in my profession made it difficult to take a temporary break: if I recommended another professional, they would wait months just to continue working with me.
How do you promote your products? Is online marketing important to you and do you think it is important to people in business in general? (Are you involved in building your customer community in any way?)
I’m actively and thoughtfully building a Facebook community, and I also write blog articles and contribute to the Hungarian newspaper Új Szó. Sharing, referrals, and engaged readers help attract clients as well.
What advice would you give to ladies starting a business?
Maybe we should look around, see what works. In this country, the only thing that matters is the big penalties, the financial consequences, as long as pollution can be gotten away with a penny, I don't think there will be any meaningful change. I am constantly put off by the bags left on the side of the road. I cannot believe that these people can be taught a lesson in any other way than by punishment. They are the ones to whom environmental protection means little. And it is just about the pressure that we as individuals put on those who are so comfortable, who don't care. Maybe this is the key to a cleaner Earth. Wherever you go, think about whether your business will be sustainable in the long term. Whether it serves others and if so, do it with a lot of love, because that attitude will pay off. The best tip is not to constantly want something better, newer, trendier.
